One of the biggest causes of their woes or at least Geithner's and what isn't being talked about, is how jacked up our Tax system is, not the paying of them but how you have to pay them. The Tax structure is screwed up and as much as those people want to complain, millions of Americans screw up or can't pay their taxes every year. Some of it is delinquency and a lot of it is how confusing it is and how poorly structured various filing procedures are. Especially when you make a lot of money like the appointees did, taxes get even more complicated and delve into different areas that most people would be confused. I'm not defending what they did but I can see how it can happen. Our Tax system is Archaic and wasteful and needs to be overhauled in a big way. Then maybe we won't have so many people with Tax issues.
