Just Call Me "Dick"

Ok so this is not making fun of people that have the name Dick or are named Richard but prefer to be called Dick.

I do have a question about this though. Why or how is it that a person named Richard would decide one day; "You know I think I want to be called Dick". How does that happen? How does someone decide that being called Dick would be better? No offense to ANYONE but,

I don't get it...

Although I would admit that some people have earned that name. Case in point...
